Our “Mission”
When Reflections was first conceived over 18 years ago, our “mission” was to provide readers with a magazine which celebrated all that was rich in the area in which they lived. One rule was to avoid anything too contentious - religious, political or otherwise – and, where possible, to record the many positives of life in this area.
This may make us seem a bit old fashioned but, as in life, it is better to be pleasant than unpleasant, and to have good manners rather than bad. Furthermore, this old-fashioned quality extends to a respect for the fundamentals of good writing, grammar and punctuation - for how are we to produce a magazine that gains respect when we abuse the rich and beautiful language upon which it draws?
The final part of our mission is to ensure that the people who advertise in the magazine get value for money. We therefore simultaneously offer them a true marketing service and ensure their message gets delivered to a receptive audience on the principle that our readers will support us by engaging with our advertisers in a similar way - based on trust, respect and value for money.
A good, old-fashioned quality is the belief that readers and advertisers will judge for themselves whether we have succeeded in our aims. We remain grateful for the continuing support of readers and advertisers. If you have any queries with regard to the editorial content – or have an idea for a possible feature - please contact editor Barrie Farnsworth.
Our Advertising Team
The advertising team at Reflections is led by Mike Snow. With many years of varied experience in roles across the media and other commercial sectors, Mike has the knowledge and dedication to advise businesses effectively on a potential marketing strategy. Mike is assisted by Carol Silcock, who also has a wealth of experience both as an advertising executive and advertising manager for the local media. Both Mike and Carol adopt a customer-focussed and 'no pressure' approach to sales, relying on excellent personal service and meticulous attention to detail. The team is made complete by Rob Bannister, who offers a keen eye for creativity to artistic design, sharp and inventive photography and a similar relaxed approach to sales.
Our design and advertising service uses the most advanced technology, but more importantly, designers who have long-standing commercial experience in the advertising business. Our designers understand the needs of customers and are able to interpret sales messages and convert them to advertising with the power to persuade. Added to accurate targeting, this means that your investment in advertising is maximised and you have the best possible chance of gaining response from the readership.
